‘Everyone deserves equal opportunities.’
- Guru Sutapa Talukdar

Gurukul believes talent has no bound; talent must rise above social strata and economic background. In 2014, Gurukul took its first step into CSR. It was a difficult task. To implant and nurture creative thoughts in the hearts and minds of children whose parents barely make their ends meet, was not easy. But the Gurukul took up the challenge.
Today, Gurukul has a full-fledged CSR wing supported by like-minded patrons, Exide Industries Limited, Kolkata Port Trust and Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited, Srijon and Urbana. With the support of Kolkata Port Trust, Gurukul has opened up a new centre at Remount Road where underprivileged children are taught to dance. Encouraged by Exide’s will to empower, our teachers regularly visit four schools to groom and hone students – Kalighat Mahakali Pathsala, Haltu Arya Balika Vidyalaya, All Bengal Womens’ Union, Tagore Foundation School (including neurodivergent individuals).
