Creative Wing is an embodiment and reflection of the most experimental works of Gurukul, a unique blend of the pure form and the experimental. The Wing follows a research-based practice. It has vast archival assets and invaluable references of Indian classical music and dance. Music plays a vital role in all of Creative Wing productions. The Wing holds a library of original music scored by stalwarts such as V.Balsara, Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Pandit Subhankar Banerjee, Acharya Jayanta Bose, Dhaneswar Swain, Dhanurdhar Reddy and Ramahari Das. Besides it has a priceless repository of original music composed and played by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.

At the heart of all Creative Wing conceptions lies innovation. Use of colourful and inventive sets and seamless blend of various indigenous classical dance forms like Kalaripayattu and Chhau with Odissi, make the choreographies exceptional, both visually and aesthetically.
The Creative Wing manifests in three forms –
Dance Drama –
Story-telling through nritya, the drama unfolds in the form of a narrative chronicled through mudras.
Dance Ballet –
A blend of Odissi with other indigenous classical dance forms, the ballet is a representation of an idea through vibrancy.
Dance Items –
A short exposition, engaging and mesmerising, enhanced with lyrics and music.
